I am a clinical social worker with a passion for supporting survivors of trauma discover their best, empowered selves. I'm a career-changer who transitioned from filmmaker to therapist to not only help others find purpose and healing in their lives, but to follow my own inner voice urging me to contribute to the world in a more purposeful, genuine way.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages and cultures, exploring topics such as anxiety and self-esteem, sexual empowerment, coping with sexual trauma, domestic violence and cultivating self-compassion. I believe we all must learn to just be, to love ourselves unconditionally, irrespective of our accomplishments.
I provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ identified individuals and people in all forms of relationships and bring a sex-positive lens to therapy.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker currently working for the Department of State Hospitals. In that setting, I create and lead trainings in trauma informed care to promote a culture of empathy and compassion in a system long overdue for such a change. And although I am dedicated to transforming organizational culture, I am equally passionate as a therapist in helping individuals develop self-empowerment, guiding exploration of childhood circumstances and identifying links between learned expectations and behavior. Throughout my sixteen years of experience, I have focused on treating those suffering with addiction, personality disorders and issues related to trauma. I am driven to provide you with a challenging, yet safe space to motivate growth and change.
I’m LGBTQ+ allied as well as allied with those in polyamorous/open relationships. If I sound like a good fit for you, please reach out!
We utilize a combination of existential, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral modalities to provide dynamic treatment that fits you and your strengths. We encourage feedback along the way and adjust your treatment plan according to your evolving goals. As trauma therapists, our primary goal is to provide a safe, warm environment where you can feel empowered and discover strength in your voice.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. We help individuals get underneath the painful shame and judgement to access healing and compassion.
Our current psychotherapy services are offered exclusively through teletherapy for residents of the state of California. We offer individual, couples, and group sessions through a secure, private, video or audio-only platform.
Although we do not accept insurance at this time, we are dedicated to providing affordable services. If you are experiencing financial hardship or do not have insurance, please make sure to inquire about our sliding scale payment options.
